How did that get there?

A couple of days after her wedding, Wendy brought her wedding dress into our Bayview and York Mills location for cleaning and preservation.

Wendy knew about the stains on the bottom of her wedding dress, but had no idea about the ink mark on the back left side of her wedding dress. Our staff found the stain while they were inspecting Wendy’s wedding gown with her. She had no idea how or when it got there.

Our experts did a great job removing the stains from the bottom hems and in removing the ink stain on the side.

The best thing to do when you notice a stain is nothing at all. Always let an expert treat the stain. Trying to remove yourself may damage the fabric, and spread or embed the stain.

I’m just the mother, I don’t know

Susan’s daughter was married on the weekend, and as her daughter was headed to the airport for her honeymoon, she asked her mother to call and arrange to have her wedding gown cleaned.

When I met Susan, she wasn’t sure what pieces she should have cleaned, or whether her daughter wanted to clean and preserve her wedding dress or just clean her wedding dress. Susan’s daughter had her wedding dress, a shawl, a garter belt, and a veil. I advised Susan that it was best to clean all of the items; preservation could be determined when her daughter returns.

As we were filling in the wedding gown inspection form and inspecting her daughter’s wedding dress, Susan began to get worried. She could not believe all of the stains on the gown. While she was aware of the stains on the hems and the underarms, she did not notice any of the stains down the front. She could not believe her daughter was such a slob in her wedding dress.

The key to beautifully cleaning and preserving your gown is to begin the process as soon as possible. Stains will not have time to set and/or oxidize, which can make it much more difficult to achieve complete stain removal.

Laura brought her wedding gown in for cleaning right away.

Laura was still uncertain of what to do with her wedding gown, but she knew that the gown should be cleaned as soon as possible to avoid stains from setting in.

The morning after her wedding, Laura was surprised to see the amount of dirt and staining on the bottom hems of her wedding gown.

Laura knew that whether she wanted to keep and preserve her wedding dress or whether she wanted to sell her gown, it is best to have her gown cleaned first.

If Laura decides to preserve her wedding gown, she will have a lifetime guarantee on the preservation. If she chooses to sell her wedding dress, she will recover more of the gown cost for having cleaned the wedding dress first.
